After much deliberation, legal review, and a few warm spring days… the OpenTAP team has decided to re-license OpenTAP under the following license terms, aka the [BEER-WARE license](https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Licensing/Beerware). This will maximize community growth… and minimize thirst. The license is compatible with GPL. April Fools! If you thought it was too good to be true… well, you were right. It was! The OpenTAP engine remains licensed under the MPLv2 (no change)… and we still recommend OSS plugins under MIT. We love a good laugh and, more so, we love a good beer (and hope you do too)! So feel free to take a picture with a good beer in hand and virtually toast to the OpenTAP community. And on May 1, International Workers’ Day, the license will switch to GPLv3.
