How do I install OpenTap on Debian?

I can’t use the downloadable installer…“debian is not a supported Linux distribution”.

I can easily get the Tap CLI to work and then install the OpenTAP package, but it basically does nothing. I also can’t just install the “Developer’s System” package because it doesn’t exist for Linux.

I can install the EditorX package, but then it won’t run because it complains about the missing license. But it’s catch 22 because the button for the Pathwave License Manger is greyed out so I can’t add a license. I manually installed the Pathwave License Manager using the CLI, but the button is still greyed out. I was able to register it as the CE edition, and it runs, but the only thing that shows up in the tools menu is the Package Manager. Is there a way to run the license manager on the CLI?

This was all soooo easy on the Windows side, but the Linux side is giving me fits! What am I missing??

Oh, I guess I should also mention that I am trying to install this under Windows/WSL. Yes, I know I could install a Ubuntu image, but I’m trying to create my development system as close to my production system as possible. I could punt this whole thing and just run the standard Editor under Windows, but then I’m not sure if I will have deploy issues.

For reference, I have followed these instructions (Getting Started | OpenTAP), however there are no instructions for installing or configuring the license manager.

I also followed this first to install the DotNet dependency (Install .NET on Debian - .NET | Microsoft Learn).
